GREEN HOUSE STYLING WITH ALITEX

A L T E R M E H O M E A N E C D O T E S

a few weeks ago we had the pleasure of styling up the most beautiful Alitex Greenhouse for the Game Fair 2024

Take a look at the highlights from the Game Fair 2024 and how I styled our range of ‘home grown’ pieces within their stunning Green House.

Alitex - located at Torberry Farm in the South Downs was established in 1952 in Alton, they then moved a few miles down the road in 2001 to their “wonderful home – Torberry Farm in the South Downs. Torberry has become both a stunning show site and great space for our growing factory, enabling us to manufacture everything here in the UK and allow us to create the most beautiful bespoke greenhouses in the world.”

It was an absolute honour to get this opportunity from a brand who’s values and foundations are so similar to my own, their greenhouses champion home growing, which is totally in synergy with our latest ‘home grown’ collection, which celebrates the handmade and craft nature of these products that I sew in my little studio at home.

If you would like any more information on booking an appointment at their show site please visit this link or hop over to their Instagram page here.

A little look inside the National Trust green house that was at The Game Fair.

I can not thank Alitex enough for such an amazing opportunity to dress their space at the Game Fair 2024 an event which champions outdoor field sports, equestrian activities, fishing, immersing yourself in the great outdoors and more!

I had so much fun styling up the Green House, showcasing their multifunctionality - whilst sowing and growing being the first and main purpose, there is also room to enjoy alfresco dining surrounded by the rich smells of vine tomatoes, cut flowers, herb trays and so on.

With this in mind I chose to bring our small café outdoor dining set which fit the space between potting tables perfectly, without being overbearing.

Then laid our new ruffle trim table cloth in the ‘George’ print to soften the solid lines of the structure, glass and wood surroundings, added a few of our new tear drop bud vases and contrast gingham and linen scallop napkins for a more informal look.

Dotted around the greenhouse were our famous ‘mini pumpkins’ breaking up the soil, seedlings and leafy greens with a pop of pattern and colour.

I also layered our ‘scallop edge linen napkins’ upon the potting shelves to add interest and show they do have multiple uses such as wiping hands after sowing seeds or simply using to product tools or surfaces. I hope this has inspired you to add a little softness in the form of fabric furnishings into your own green house, growing area or outdoor space to enjoy the great outdoors. The space was finished off with our new ‘George Ruffle trim’ draft excluder alongside the green house door.

For those of us who are still day dreaming of owning an Alitex greenhouse we have listed a few ways to get involved with home growing whatever your budget!

Vegetable trugs are a great way to dabble in home growing and need not necessarily be a purpose bought trug - you could make your own using pallets or simply find a large old trough on Facebook market place - or even arrange a few larger pots in a sunny spot of your garden!

On a smaller scale you could create a small herb basket and grown on a window sill indoors or find a raised spot outdoors.

Last but not least vegetables often have interesting and colourful leaves - why not dot some seeds within your flower borders for something a little different? Just don’t forget to add some labels so you know what is growing!
