A L T E R M E H O M E A N E C D O T E S
an interview with you ;
This weeks interview is with Arthty (@av.home)
Hampshire life in their first home, Arthty lives with her husband Vas and “ball of joy” Pomeranian x Jack Russell; Royce. This is their first home together - a semi-detached new build surrounded by open countryside.
“I truly believe home is a 'feeling'. My home needs to feel like a warm hug & that's exactly what we've managed to achieve. My home feels comfortable & safe, in a country that's still relatively new to me. It's a reflection of my style, filled with things that bring me joy.” - Arthty
Where do you find your inspiration?
I take inspiration from design books, social media & my surroundings. Instagram is a treasure trove of inspiration, where I've made beautiful connections with other like-minded creators. I do often gravitate towards Pinterest, where you'll find me pinning everything that stops my scroll.
Your favourite home purchase?
This is a very tough question to answer & truthfully, I don't think I could narrow it down to one particular item. That being said, my most favourite possessions are vintage. These second hand pieces have breathed life into my home & hold a special place in my heart.
Where did you first hear about Alterme Home?
I discovered Alterme Home on Instagram during the 2021 holiday season. I was desperate for some beautiful stockings to hang over our fireplace & sadly, they were hard to come by. Jasmine released a beautiful collection & I snagged them instantly!
Arthty’s Favourite piece(s) from our collection;
I love the darling napkins. The variety of fabrics & the dainty patterns are right up my street.
Just for fun… we asked Arthty if she was a cushion from our range which one would she be?
The Bethany fabric is a bit of me! Green is my favourite colour. I think it can be both subtle & bold. The pattern is also out there & I think that perfectly emulates my extroverted personality!
It’s been so wonderful to interview Arthty, her new build home is far from how a you’d expect a new build to look, we love how she and Vas have added so many features & changed spaces to add character and breath life into the plain white walls. Her styling and decor is truly beautiful and inspiring, we love her vintage finds and how she styles them! If you’d like to take a peak inside their home you can follow her journey here @av.home
The colours and textures here keep this mantle muted and subtle, but beautiful at the same time.
We can’t quite get over this newbuild kitchen transformation! Arthty and Vas have worked with what they have to create the most amazing space!
Arthty’s vintage books and collected items, styled to perfection on these shelves,. The tones here match with those throughout her home; adding warmth and interest to this shelving area.
