A Dream Come True - Alterme’s Own Fabric Range
Design is my background, and from a young age I’ve always loved art and would spend hours on end drawing, fast forward almost 30 years and I’ve got my very own fabric collection. The paintings have been printed onto the most beautiful linens and are wonderful tones of earthy dark green. I have had so much fun designing and creating this range of fabrics and I can not wait to turn them into soft furnishings for your homes.
The Inspiration For These Prints - The Beautiful British Countryside
The Idea
For a year or so now I have been struggling to source beautiful and unique fabrics as there are a small number of suppliers and it is hard to create a truly different range when options are limited . This is when I began to look for a way to create my own fabrics - for an exclusive collection of homewares.
There’s nothing more inspiring than the English countryside
The Inspiration
I’m always outside - my fiancé often jokes that he should just build me a little porch and a fire so that I can sit in the garden whatever the weather… I just find that nature and greenery calms my mind - even on a rainy day! Whenever we are out walking the dog I am constantly taking photos and admiring plants, trees and flowers - this has been the main inspiration for my first fabric collection! Having painted several pieces of art for our own home, guests & family members have often commented that I should sell my pieces (watch this space…) but it did give me the encouragement I needed to paint and create patterns inspired by the great british countryside to make prints for my very own range of linen fabrics.

The Fabric
Printed on a neutral british natural 250gsm linen, my designs have become fabric reality! The print is a dark and earthy green - in synergy with the current pieces and fits seamlessly with the brand in terms of both pattern and colour. The linen is a slightly heavier weight so will not only hold its shape but looks and feels premium - another important factor for me! With time this linen will naturally wear and slub which will only add to its beauty!

The Collection
Keep an eye out for the launch of this collection, I was so excited to share this with you as soon as I had signed off the final samples so the next step is producing cushions & table linens with my exclusive fabric!
