This weeks interview is with Megan McEnery (@paintitprettyhome)
On the edge of the Yorkshire Countryside, Megan, Sean, two daughters; Ava & Alanna plus “very energetic” Jack Russell Terrier pup called Keziah, live in a fairly new home. They have just completed an extension; “a small tweak to make it absolutely perfect for us as a family”
“What makes our home a home are the people who live in it and those that visit us. It’s important to us that our home feels welcoming, cosy, safe and practical but is still an expression of us and our style” - Megan
Where do you find your inspiration?
Sean and I lived in East Africa for some time and as a result we love rustic, earthy tones and furniture. Greens and natural materials remind us of our time there. Instagram scrolling is an amazing resource for inspiration but we also love a good visit to B&Q, our local garden centre and the second hand furniture shops.
Your favourite home purchase?
Sean rates our coffee machine very highly! I love our Barker and Stonehouse dining table as many happy memories have been made around it with family and friends. We also love our Laura Ashley lounge furniture (a bargain found on Facebook Marketplace!).
Worst home decision / purchase?
Paint colours! When we first moved in, we painted our hallway and home office in a version of green that made us feel a bit, well, green. We quickly repainted our home in a beautiful Farrow and Ball scheme of colours which we absolutely adore.
Where did you first hear about Alterme Home?
I found Alterme Home on Instagram; we absolutely loved the fabric colours and designs. I’m sure we have an Alterme Home cushion in every room now!
Megan’s Favourite piece(s) from our collection;
We love our Bethany and Jennifer stripe cushions on our bed.

We love this bedroom set up & are totally flattered to see not 1 but 5 Alterme cushions! They work perfectly with this space and the paint colours in here offer a calming space to sleep!
Meg & Sean’s home is beautiful & practical ; like this coat / boot area here! We love the use of wood against green tones & softening with cushions including our ‘Martha sage’
