the transition to spring within your home
In collaboration with Mulberry Homes, we have pulled together our favourite pieces for Spring, sharing tips on how to use fabric and print to create a lighter palette within your home and our top 5 key styling tips for the new season!
Spring offers the perfect chance to update and refresh your space using pattern, colour and textures to soften rooms and add a light and airy feel to your space for the brighter days ahead.
Our first focus for Spring starts with a spring clean, de clutter your space ready to begin a spring refresh, we think concentrating on your living spaces is most important as these are the spaces that you can enjoy daily and share with others when they are visiting or if you are hosting.
The Living Room;
We suggest taking any cushions that have a winter feel (wools, faux furs or darker fabrics) and swapping them out for fresher more crisp linen cushions, choosing lighter colours and softer patterns in this lightweight fabric will offer a much fresher feel to a room. Think crisp whites, plain light beige and soft muted greens which you can layer within the room alongside light colour throws and clear cut glass vases to help bounce light around the space. Below are a few of our favourite spring fabrics and decorative items.
Adding a classic ticking stripe in a lighter soft beige is the perfect way to transition your soft furnishings into the new season for Spring. Choosing beige as your base is a great way to soften the feel of your sofas and chairs whilst leaving space to layer in pattern and soft earthy tones such as green.
Lastly, we love to layer up our throws for this time of year as it is still typically cooler, this is a great way to add a little more colour and texture whilst keeping the overall look fresh.
We then love to dot bud vases on coffee tables or mantles to display smaller sprigs of spring foliage, these work to add interest, create a sense of bringing the outdoors in and will work to reflect light with their opulent glass design.

Once we have given our living room a ‘freshen up’ we turn our attention to the dining area. Again focusing on linen as the key fabric here as it is wonderfully lofty and light by nature and adds freshness whilst softening the harsh lines we often find in our dining areas due to wooden tables and chairs and hard flooring.
Layering in table cloths, runners, napkins and cushions in this space creates a welcoming softness for spring.
Our favourite pieces are our Dainty daisy linens, offering a brighter crips white with a mix of greens and yellows or our ‘spring leaves’ which give a similar look with a greater focus on the print as this is slightly more prominent and vibrant.
For a real ‘easter feel’ our Flopsie table linens are perfect and work wonderfully to add interest without the use of too much colour.
Complete the look with matching cushions for added comfort!
After you have chosen your fresh new linens, another key way to transition your dining space from winter to spring is to add bright white candles in tall glass candle stick holders, this not only elevates your table but feels really fresh for the Spring season.
We also like to use more bud vases, similarly to your living area to add pops of colour with foliage stems.
Our favourite styling piece for this season is our new white ribbed jug, perfect for serving drinks or using as a styling centre piece for your table or displaying on shelving, the white adds brightness whilst the design softens the overall look.

Top 5 Key Styling Tips For Spring
Fabric - always opt for linens or light cottons as above, these fabrics are lightweight and the perfect choice for spring, we love to switch out our winter wool cushions for linens as the season changes
Colours - opt for brighter cleaner whites, softer muted greens and hues of yellow to add interest and create a feeling of joy with the pops of spring colour.
Decorative objects - styling your home with glass vases, glass candle holders and white serveware offers and instant update VS any darker tone pieces that you may have used over the winter months, these items will help lighten and lift the space.
Pattern - we opt for less ‘fussy’ patterns and softer shades, such as our Burford print or Dainty daisy above, these work well to add colour whilst minimising the overall drama to create a serene look within your home for spring.
Layering - Spring is still a colder season in the UK and with that in mind we still love to layer in our cushions and throws for comfort that feels lighter than that during the winter months. Opt for a lightweight wool throw such as our ‘sheep’ which not only adds colour and pattern but offers comfort without adding too much bulk to your space.
